Consumer Rights & Guarantee

When you purchase jewellery from Rebecca McDermott Jewellery, you are protected by your statutory consumer rights under Irish and EU law.

These rights apply independently of any additional guarantee I may offer and cannot be restricted by my own guarantee terms.

EU Legal Guarantee

Under Irish and EU consumer law, goods must be as described, fit for their intended purpose and of the quality that can reasonably be expected.

If an item does not conform to the contract — for example, because it is faulty or not as described — you may be entitled to remedies such as repair, replacement, a price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances.

Rebecca McDermott Jewellery Workmanship Guarantee

In addition to your statutory rights, every piece of Rebecca McDermott Jewellery comes with my own one-year workmanship guarantee.

This covers faults arising from the manufacture or craftsmanship of the piece during the guarantee period.

My one-year workmanship guarantee is an additional commercial guarantee and does not replace, restrict or affect your statutory consumer rights.

If There Is a Problem With Your Jewellery

If you believe there is a fault with your jewellery, please contact me with your order details and, where possible, photographs of the piece.

I will assess the issue and advise you on the appropriate next steps.

Where the jewellery does not conform to the sales contract, your statutory rights and remedies under Irish consumer law will apply.

Bespoke & Made-to-Order Jewellery

Many pieces of Rebecca McDermott Jewellery are made to order or created specifically for an individual client.

Certain personalised, bespoke or custom-made items may be exempt from the standard right to cancel an online order simply because you change your mind.

This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
